it’s 4am and i haven’t slept yet. it’s my fault, really. i don’t want to sleep because i’m scared i’ll miss my 8am flight to cagayan de oro. so here i am surfing the internet and the tv. i realize that i haven’t been updating this blog anymore. so here’s a pathetic, last-minute attempt to update you with the latest, juiciest stuff that’s been happening to me.

life has been pretty monotonous as of late. work has been hectic to say the least. and i haven’t been able to attend ultimate training because i keep having to stay a bit later than normal in the office. the stress level is still something i can handle but i feel myself getting fatter everyday. 😦 on happier news, my hula-hoop arrived already so i have an alternative method of exercise already. i’m already pretty good with waist hooping and i’m getting the hang of hip hooping already. it’s pretty exciting actually and i really want to learn as many moves as i can. at least i still have some semblance of physical activity.

my mind, on the other hand, gets the all the exercise it could get. every wednesday, i join a group of friends at Panama Jack for Quizzo Nights. it’s so much fun! so far i’ve realized that i suck at geography questions and current events and that i’m pretty good with hollywood showbiz questions. it’s actually a pretty good way to unwind after a stressful day at work. so grab a bunch of your friends and join us at Panama Jack on wednesdays! 😀

another thing that has got me excited is the fact that the US fall tv season is upon us. all my favorite shows are back and i am psyched about them all. but the one that’s got me hooked is Glee! it had me at Love, Look Away and it’s got me ever since. Glee is my definition of tv heaven: broadway songs, cute song&dance numbers and hot guys who could sing. *sigh* if only we could just all break into song when we feel like it without looking like total psychos. hahahaha! anyway, here’s the Gold Digger cover from the show. it’s not the actual clip but just the audio. youtube has been pretty strict with their videos lately. oh well…

wow, that took longer than expected. now, i’m late. i’m off to iligan for some ultimate, river-tubing, caving/rappelling and just chilling with a bunch of my friends. ahhh… despite everything, life is still good. 😀

this post has been in my drafts queue for quite a while now. however, after watching the latest episodes of So You Think You Can Dance i knew i had to post this.

i’m one of those girls who has taken ballet when she was young. i think most little girls go through their ballerina phase. i stopped after one year though, because i didn’t like my teacher. i do not regret my decision to stop ballet because it really wasn’t my thing but whenever i see really talented dancers do their thing, i am filled with a tinge of envy. there is a beauty when a person can use their body to express how they feel.

the reason i decided to go ahead and post this was because i was really touched by one of the dances from the latest performance episode of this season, namely,

Kupono and Kayla, Contemporary
Choreography: Mia Michaels
Music: Gravity by Sara Bareilles

yeah, i gasped when the song started playing and i was tearing up to the end of the performance.

the rest are not listed in any order at all. i remember getting goosebumps in all of them though. i haven’t really watched all of the previous seasons of SYTYCD. this is the first season that i’m watching from start to end. the next time i go to quiapo, i’ll probably get the earlier seasons so i can get more of my dancing fix. 🙂

Allison and Ivan, Contemporary
Choreographer: Tyce Diorio
Music: Why by Annie Lennox

Jonathan and Karla, Contemporary
Choreography: Stacey Tookey
Music: Falling Slowly by Glen Hansard and Marketa Inglova

Chelsea and Mark, Lyrical
Choreographer: Napoleon and Tabitha
Music: Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis

Lacey and Kameron, Contemporary
Choreographer: Mia Michaels
Music: Dancing by Elise

the last is a dance Joshua and Katee did but there isn’t a youtube video i could find. 😦 here’s another “complete” video featuring two different dancers…
Ben Susak and Pam Chu Song
Choreographer: Wade Robson
Music: Slow Dancing in a Burning Room by John Mayer

oh, here it is but without music. boo youtube boo!!!

Joshua and Katee, Lyrical

notice how many of the dances are contemporary. i really have no idea what that genre of dance it but i love it! a friend once said, if it’s something we can’t categorize then it’s probably contemporary! hahaha!

edit: i forgot to add this group routine which i found so so so sexy!!!
Choreographer: Tabitha and Napoleon
Music: Calle Ocho by Pitbull

Serena: Why did you do that?
Chuck: Because i love her and i can’t make her happy.

okay, so that’s not quoted verbatim but it’s pretty close i think.

argh!!! wtf bass!!! go fight for her, you idiot!!!

well, at least gossip girl is getting to be intriguing again. welcome back G! hopefully, you can spice things up again. i find serena, dan and nate boring. the chuck-blair tandem is really what’s keeping me in anticipation of the next episode week after week.

i can’t wait for the episode where the following pic takes place!

oh, to have a love life of my own so as i won’t fixate over some fictional characters on tv… *sigh* hehe. ;P

akala niyo kung sino noh? hehehe. since i don’t have any love life to speak of right now, i’m channeling all my energy on the chuck bass – blair waldorf tandem on gossip girl. i love them so much. they really do belong together. i just wish he’ll finally get over all his issues and let blair into his life.

Blair: Whatever you’re going through, I wanna be there for you.
Chuck: We’ve talked about this. You are not my girlfriend.
Blair: But I am me. And you are you. We’re Chuck and Blair. Blair and Chuck. The worst thing you’ve ever done, the darkest thought you’ve ever had, I will stand by you through anything.
Chuck: And why would you do that.
Blair: Because I love you.
Chuck: Well, that’s too bad.

yes… she finally said it! finally! finally! but she learns that sometimes you don’t get the reaction you think you’d get when you finally say those three very important words…

Blair: I told Chuck I love him. … It’s horrible. I thought that if I could finally say it then everything would change but he’s just as selfish and soul-less as ever. Only a masochist could ever love such a narcissist.

i found myself nodding and agreeing with her as soon as she said that last line. that really hit home. actually the conversation above hit home too. but i’m tired of talking and thinking about my own failed relationship so i won’t talk about it anymore. 😛

when chuck appeared towards the end of the episode, i wanted to start jumping up and down in my seat. but, gossip girl didn’t disappoint in being a tease. tsk. tsk. tsk. they dangled that happy ending right in front of us then took it away. 😦 haay… now, i and the rest of the gossip girl fan base have to wait till january 5, 2009 for the next episode.

*english translation: seriously, i really do love him!!! 😛

oh yeah! gosip girl is becoming juicer by the episode!!!

gah, chuck bass is just so yummy!!! hahaha! yeah, so he’s an arrogant ass most of the time but then again most guys are asses, at least chuck is aware that he is. waaah!!! i want my own chuck bass!!! hahaha.

anyway, this entry isn’t supposed to be a homage to how much i want chuck bass to be real and be my boyfriend but it’s supposed to be about those three word which have eight letters. hmmm… i like you. i lust you. i want you. i hate you. could be any of those but we know what it actually stands for… i love you. duh! hahaha.

nowadays, i think the problem isn’t with how hard it is to say those three words but actually on how often they’re said. given the onslaught of technology, relationships (including friendships) are so easy to cultivate and falling in and out of love has become common. i love you are words that have become so easy to say and i loved you perhaps even easier. i’m sure most of us have been there, so caught up in the moment and the feeling that you’re so sure that what you feel is love and that it is real. well, it seldom is. i’ve personally never uttered those words to someone yet (in the context of romantic love that is, i always tell my friends i love them and i mean it), although i’ve written it twice. saying something and writing something have always been different to me. i find it a lot easier to write how i feel than to say it. i guess it’s that non-confrontational, scared-of-rejection trait of mine that makes me this way.

i believe that it’s possible for someone to truly fall-in-love with more than one person. however, i also believe that we tend to imagine ourselves in-love with someone more often than we really are. it would be great and ideal if all of us meet the one instantly but it rarely happens that way. so throughout our lives we do meet people we connect with and perhaps even fall-in-love with but some circumstances make it impossible for that relationship to work out. someday, when the timing is perfect and the feelings are mutual then it’ll be right and that person you’re with will probably be the one you’ll spend the rest of your life with. for right now, for most of us, i think all we can do is hope that somewhere out there is that special someone that is meant for us.

but for the meantime, i’ll try to live vicariously through chuck and blair and keep on crossing my fingers that they do end up together by the end of this season! hahaha. kakatawa ba na binalik ko yung topic sa gossip girl! 😛 hahaha.

i’m currently obsessed with…

... victoria's secret lingerie (i really want to buy some and have them shipped here)
... tumblr-ing
... hula-hooping
... learning my old piano pieces again
... expensive stuff i can't afford
... still being kissed ala north & south

That’s the closest to my idea of love: watching the skyline, making out, making mistakes, making believe desire means it’s with somebody else, then breaking up, and, if we’re lucky, forgiveness that comes right before take-off. There, I’ve said it. What more can one want? A lover who loves me as much as the rain. Rain, and, from the opening credits to the closing heart, Gershwin.
