i just pre-ordered my own copy of Breaking Dawn, the fourth installment of Stepanie Meyer’s vampire saga. i waited for a month for this book and now it’ll be mine in just a few more days. woohoo… i have a feeling i won’t be sleeping come monday night. :))

currently, there are three books already published: twilight, new moon and eclipse.

in summary the book series is about a teenager, Bella, who falls in love with a vampire, Edward. he falls in love with her too and it’s a constant struggle for him as he desires to taste her blood. Bella’s best friend turns out to be a werewolf, who happens to be the mortal enemy of a vampire. pretty heavy stuff for a teenage girl to handle right? 🙂

it’s a fun and easy read, quite a page-turner actually. when i was reading the first three books, i constantly passed on invites to go out as i was eager to snuggle in bed and read. the third book, eclipse, left me wanting for more!!! i mean, will she or won’t she become a vampire?!? i just have to know. i really don’t want her to become one because it is a cruel thing to be the walking undead, but how will their love survive if she doesn’t become one. hmm… such a dilemma!!! hayayay!!! and yes, since i don’t have a lovelife, i live vicariously through books and movies. i need to get myself a lovelife! 😀

oh, and there’s already a movie on the first book, twilight. it’s coming out on dec. 12 this year so i’m definitely marking my calendar for this.

i’m doing this in bullets since i’m a bit too lazy to write it properly…

  • a few friends and i watched the lifehouse concert here in manila last saturday. they were amazing live!!! jason wade’s voice is so beautiful and consistent. i wish it were a private concert and he was singing you and me just for me. i’m sure most of the girls in the araneta stadium were thinking this too! hehehe. they didn’t sing everything though. i was looking forward to that pa naman! 😦
  • i’ve been out till the wee hours in the morning recently, drinking below zero beer at grilla. it’s fun but it’s been taking a toll on my work though. my body clock has adjusted itself to 9am and i keep showing up for work later then my usual. yes, we’re on flexitime in my office but it’s still embarrassing to show up late everyday. this week i won’t be joining the below zero club first. my body needs to reset itself.
  • day 2 of the monsoon league was played yesterday despite the strong wind and rain. we won 3 out of our 3 games which deserves a big hurrah! we played well yesterday, swinging the disc and making better decisions in throwing. amazingly my nerves weren’t so bad yesterday. i was able to catch the disc twice in the endzone. one catch was even a running semi-jump catch. i actually thought i did a really good job with the run but my teammates were telling me how poised and girl-like i still was when i caught the disc. *sigh* running is not really my thing. it’s not that i want to start looking and running like a guy in the field, i just want to look less kikay and more sporty.
  • i got called a stone-faced ice queen last night!!! hahaha. this was in comparison to a friend of mine who is kinda flirty. i know i’m generally unapproachable when it comes to guys but it still stung to hear that out loud. shet, is that the reason i’m still single?

it’s been too long since my last good kiss. way too long for my taste. i think i’ve already forgotten to kiss properly since i haven’t been practising in quite a while. and boy do i miss it! i miss the feel of someone else’s lips on mine. the faint shiver of their lips on mine. the brush of their fingers on my cheek or chin. soft sweet kisses that turn into deep passionate embraces. dammit! i really miss kissing!!! 😦

anyway, here’s an article with a few quirky facts about kissing…

10 Quirky Facts About Kissing

By Laura Scahefer

Think you know a thing or two about kissing? You probably do. But the facts below are so off the beaten path, we’ll bet you don’t know them all—and they could come in handy. Not only could they provide some steamy “Did you know…?” chit chat, but they’ll help you see all the benefits a satisfying lip lock can bring into your life. Happy smooching!

1. Two out of every three couples turn their heads to the right when they kiss.

2. A simple peck uses two muscles; a passionate kiss, on the other hand, uses all 34 muscles in your face. Now that’s a rigorous workout!

3. Like fingerprints or snowflakes, no two lip impressions are alike.

4. Kissing is good for what ails you. Research shows that the act of smooching improves our skin, helps circulation, prevents tooth decay, and can even relieve headaches.

5. The average person spends 336 hours of his or her life kissing.

6. Ever wonder how an “X” came to represent a kiss? Starting in the Middle Ages, people who could not read used an X as a signature. They would kiss this mark as a sign of sincerity. Eventually, the X came to represent the kiss itself.

7. Talk about a rush! Kissing releases the same neurotransmitters in our brains as parachuting, bungee jumping, and running.

8. The average woman kisses 29 men before she gets married.

9. Men who kiss their partners before leaving for work earn average higher incomes than those who don’t.

10. The longest kiss in movie history was between Jane Wyman and Regis Tommey in the 1941 film, You’re in the Army Now. It lasted 3 minutes and 5 seconds. So if you’ve beaten that record, it’s time to celebrate!

i’ve been surfing the net for nice quotes to put on my tumblr site when i came upon quotes from ally mcbeal. i love ally mcbeal! i love it when her imagination gets the better of her and the fact that she gets herself in the weirdest, uncomfortable situations. but what i love most about her is how she stays ever hopeful in her belief that love does exist despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. she reminds me of myself sometimes. 😉

Sometimes I’m tempted to become a street person, cut off from society but then I wouldn’t get to wear my outfits.

Forgive me because I have spent my whole life crafting this little list of how it’s supposed to go when I meet somebody and as I’ve gotten older I’ve become more willing to make compromises. There’s only one real prerequisite left on the list for the man in my life… I have to love him.

The last thing you want is to be in love with someone you can’t have. Believe me, that’s something I know.

i agree with her here! unrequited love is a bitch!

You know I just got this piano, sometimes I sing this song it’s called goodnight my someone…and it’s about…well, basically it’s a love song about someone you never met but you know is out there. And I dunno we make so few promises to ourselves as we grow up and one of them is that on our wedding day we walk down the aisle with someone we love. Somebody who does make your heart bounce, I guess. And there are some promises that I think we have to keep.

this is my favorite quote from the series. and i do love the song goodnight my someone. it’s from the broadway musical: music man.

you know you want more…

i haven’t been in the mood to blog recently despite the fact that there are a lot of topics i’d like to blog about. perhaps it’s some kind of writer’s block but i’m really not much of a writer. anyway, i haven’t been able to do my weekend updates properly because i couldn’t concentrate enough to finish a long entry. i think another reason for my recent laziness in blogging is the fact that i’m maintaining so many sites nowadays.

technology has done so much in connecting people with each other through networking sites such as friendster and facebook. it’s so much easier to share pictures and videos through multiply and flickr. even our once private thoughts and dear diaries can now be published for the world to read in blogs. there even are sites where you can write a short updates on what you’re doing at the moment like twitter and plurk. when i tried googling myself today (oh come on, you know you’ve done it also!), i found lots of hits on both my name and my favorite alias, tikayiyay. and i thought, it’s so easy for someone to learn about me. just type my name in google and you’ll get my friendster, flickr, facebook, plurk, twitter and blog links. good thing i live in the philippines where stalking is more often than not, harmless. i myself maintain my friendster and facebook accounts so that i can check out my crush’s latest pictures or his latest relationship status. 😉

i’ve been thinking on trimming down my accounts recently. it’s creepy when i think about how much of myself i’ve been sharing on the web. i’ll be closing my plurk and twitter accounts within the week. yeah, i’ve been obsessed with plurk the past two weeks but it isn’t much fun if most of your friends aren’t on it. hehe. twitter, i really enjoyed even updating through my mobile during times of extreme duress. however, i haven’t been updating it much recently, mostly due to the fact that i’ve been more active on plurk. i guess “real-time,” “what are you doing now?” blogs aren’t for people like me who live somewhat boring, routinary lives.

BUT WAIT!!! i couldn’t help it though. being the sometimes-bored-even-though-i-have-lots-of-work-i-have-to-do office girl that i am, i discovered a new fun site: tumblr. and before i knew it, i was registering a new account for myself!!! tsk. tsk. tsk. i like it though. it’s almost like twitter but it’s more of a blog. i’m going to be using it as my media blog where i’ll put my favorite flickr photos or other cute photos i find online. i’ll also be placing my favorite quotes and songs there, too! hehe.

so join me in saying goodbye to plurk and twitter and hello to tumblr!!! 😀

i’m currently obsessed with…

... victoria's secret lingerie (i really want to buy some and have them shipped here)
... tumblr-ing
... hula-hooping
... learning my old piano pieces again
... expensive stuff i can't afford
... still being kissed ala north & south

That’s the closest to my idea of love: watching the skyline, making out, making mistakes, making believe desire means it’s with somebody else, then breaking up, and, if we’re lucky, forgiveness that comes right before take-off. There, I’ve said it. What more can one want? A lover who loves me as much as the rain. Rain, and, from the opening credits to the closing heart, Gershwin.
