weekend update, 2008.04.28

i survived week 2 of the summer league unscathed!!! thank goodness i played a lot better. our first game was against alabang where we were cupped for almost the entirety of the game. good thing my forehand decided to cooperate. hehehe. stress talaga maging handler paminsan. lalo na on the cup kasi handler play na talaga yun eh. super thankful ako my nerves didn’t kick in and i was able to throw well during the swings. we lost the game 10-6.

i felt a bit more worried for the wengweng game kasi yun yung must-win namin in order to remain in pool A for the next round. buti hindi naubos yung good energy namin from the first game. back-to-back pa naman kami. we won 13-4. first win of the league and it feels good. 😀

hindi na ako nagsisisi na we’re playing in pool A. kaya naman pala namin eh. we just really need to train more and push ourselves more during the games. even though we won’t be winning a lot of games we still will be learning a lot and boosting our confidence to a new level.

i can’t believe i’m saying this but i can’t wait for next weeks games!!! :)) i lurve, luv, LOVE this game!!! :))

just a little bit claustrophobic

sometimes i feel as though my world is becoming a bit too small. why, you ask? well, i can’t go through a week without running into 3 guys i’ve kissed. i know, 3 is not a big number yet but hey! it’s me we’re talking about here. i thought i’d end up kissing only one!

yes, there was once a time i believed that the first guy i kissed would be the last. hmmm… on what can i blame this unheard of phenomenon?

FAIRYTALES!

think about it, what fairytale has a heroine who ended up kissing a guy who wasn’t prince charming? is any coming to mind? well, i can’t think of any. feel free to enlighten me if you know any. 😀

in fairytales, a kiss, specifically true love’s kiss, is all-powerful. it has the power to break evil spells. after all, sleeping beauty and snow white both awake from a deep slumber after true love’s kiss.

a kiss is all that a young princess-to-be dreamed of…

it even has the power to turn frogs into princes. remember the frog prince, where the princess kissed the frog and was pleasantly suprised that he turned out to be prince after all. this guy made a very good observation… why kiss a frog when there are are many fish in the sea? hehehe.

too bad we don’t live in a fairytale. in reality, frogs just turn out to be frogs. seldom, if ever, do they turn into princes.

don’t get me wrong, i’m not complaining about anything. this is just a weird random thought. recently, i feel like the walls are closing in on me. my social network is becoming a bit too interconnected and it’s not hard to come face-to-face with one drunken mistake after another. drunken mistakes are actually a blessing and a curse. it is a blessing because you have the perfect excuse for acting terribly out of character. on the negative side, you did get drunk and that nightmare you keep dreaming about actually happened and no matter how many times you hit your head against a wall it wouldn’t change a thing.

but who am i kidding? truth be told, it isn’t so bad kissing frogs. ;))

weekend update, 2008.04.22

so i’m not faithful with my updates anymore. i start typing them but do not have the time to finish or followup on them sometimes. :S

last sunday was day 1 of the summer league. my team, TODA, is seeded in pool A for the first set of round robin games. all i can say is… waaaaaah!!!!!! so much pressure! i’m one of the main handlers of the team so it’s a bit scary playing in pool A. since i changed my forehand grip, my forehand throws haven’t been the most accurate. then there are the nerves that come with a pressured game. :S i’m beginning to regret voting that we play for pool A. shet!

here are some of the highlights of last sunday for me:

1. being sponsored by chowking! o, diba?! hehehe.

2. jumping for a disc that was thrown high totally aware that derek was behind me. what a scary experience. shempre, hindi ko nasalo yung disc. i was too scared of getting hit by derek. note to self: must learn to be more aggressive with the disc.

3. my really bad throws. grrr… kakainis! i couldn’t shake off my nerves last sunday. may assist pa nga ako sa isang callahan sa sexual chocolate na game eh! kakahiya!!! feeling ko conscious ako mashado na handler na ako and that i’m playing in pool A and that people are judging me. i’m not good when i feel like i’m being judged with every move i make. next time, i should really just leave the mind game behind and just play the game!

4. being given the opportunity for a good D against marc but not taking it. why? because i was too busy laughing in my head. :)) umaga palang sinabihan na ako nina papi na dapat daw tumatalon ako sa sideline to distract the guys, which i laughed off. kamusta naman noh? siguro ako pa maddistract sa kanila at hindi sila maddistract sa akin. :))

5. something rox and i saw on our way to the girl’s bathroom to change. grabeh! yun lang masasabi ko. basta yun na yun! pm me nalang to ask what. 😉 hehehe.

all in all, sunday was fun but very stressful. i hope my nerves would go away soon because i still have 6 (?) more weeks of the summer league ahead of me.

i’ve discovered ebay, amazon and online banking!!! holy crap, i’ve bought a lot of stuff already. :S i have films and other lomo stuff arriving next week c/o mimay then i have a yashica 135gn on it’s way from the US. checking ebay has been part of my daily ritual already and i’m scared i’m going to get addicted to shopping online. oh well… once a shopaholic, always a shopaholic! :))
